Martin Garrix performing in Mumbai 2025 on garrixers.com

March 14, 2025, will forever be a date Garrixers hold close to their hearts. Two reasons make this day unforgettable: first, Martin Garrix performed his first-ever solo stadium show in front of 45,000 ecstatic fans in Mumbai, India. Second, and perhaps even more memorable, Martin sang publicly for the first time!

Just a day before this groundbreaking event, Martin Garrix released his highly anticipated new single, "Angels for Each Other," a collaboration with the renowned Indian singer Arijit Singh. Teased for months, the track's release became a major event. However, the biggest secret—kept under wraps until the last moment—was that Martin himself provided vocals for the first time in his career. “If you told me years ago that I'd be singing on one of my own songs, I never would have believed you.” Martin shared.

Martin landed in Mumbai on Thursday, March 12, and promptly visited Arijit Singh's record label office for a festive pre-Holi celebration. (Holi is India's vibrant festival of colors celebrating spring and renewal.) Afterward, Martin and his team finalized preparations for the historic show.

Interestingly, Martin previously attended a Coldplay concert at the DY Patil Stadium as part of the audience. But this March night, the stage was all his. He kicked off the show energetically with his popular Gravity mashup, shouting, "Mumbai, how are you feeling tonight?!" thus igniting a thrilling two-and-a-half-hour spectacle filled with joy and excitement. Special guests included Wilhelm, performing "Breakaway," and the incomparable Maejor, who electrified the crowd with AREA21's hits "Spaceships" (legendary!) and the anticipated ID "Drinks Up." Stunning 360° fireworks and laser displays elevated the show's atmosphere even further.

To close this unforgettable night, Martin played "Don’t Look Down," which triggered a mesmerizing drone performance. 300 drones lit up the sky, continuing their spectacular display during "In the Name of Love," forming a heart, and then elegantly shaping Martin's iconic +X Garrix logo. Finally, Martin announced, "Mumbai, I have a special surprise for you. Tonight, we could be angels for each other. Make some noise for Arijit Singh!" He then ran across the stadium to a secondary stage, where he sang in front of an audience for the first time ever, together with Arijit, providing an emotional and fitting finale to an unforgettable show.

The following day, Martin and Arijit met with lucky winners of a Spotify India contest, sharing stories behind the creation of "Angels for Each Other" and previewing their upcoming collaboration. Wrapping up this extraordinary weekend, Martin joined Arijit at his concert in Pune on Sunday, where they again delighted fans by singing together.
