After seeing YouTube videos of Mike Yung, singing in the New York subway, Martin Garrix met and invited him to Amsterdam, in April 2018. While Lydia, Mike's wife died at the beginning of the year, Martin and Mike have decided to write a positive song, on the quest for the dream, motivation, the title Something to Believe, finally became Dreamer.
In August 2018, Mike goes back to Amsterdam for the recording of Dreamer. It takes place in the new Martin Garrix professional studio in Amsterdam. The ZO! Gospel Choir participates in the session. This mix of surfing style between R & B, gospel and some blues accents is unheard of for Martin, who surprises us again.
Mike Yung says : "This guy could work with anyone. Why he chose to work with a 60-year-old like me was always confusing. Martin thank you for the opportunity and I love you man."
Martin Garrix declares : He's an amazing singer. I've seen him on video, singing in the subway New York. His story ... he has been singing in the subway for 38 years. I invited him to Amsterdam, we had an amazing week, wrote music on a boat with a guitar."
Dreamer is released on November 1, 2018, the video clip, which follows the adventure of the two men in their joint project is published the same day. Martin Garrix and Mike Yung have written 4 other titles together, which will come out in the future.
