AMSTERDAM - The 16-year-old Dutch DJ Martin Garrix has been approached by Christina Aguilera's record company to make a remix of her new single Your Body. His management reports that.
Despite Garrix's youthful age, this year's DJ was already on stage at the Mysteryland dance festival and he was also the youngest DJ ever to give a performance at the Privilege club, one of the largest discos in Ibiza, during a party with Diplo and others and Sean Paul.
"I thought it was a great honor to be able to make a remix for such a great international artist," says Garrix enthusiastically about his remix assignment for Christina Aguilera. On November 12 a new number from Garrix, entitled BFAM (Brother From Another Mother), will be released, which he made together with Julian Jordan.
Garrix initially had no idea what to do with the Aguilera song. "The original is very slow," Garrix explained on Wednesday evening in RTL Boulevard. "I immediately wondered how to make a house version of this."
The Amsterdam teenager nevertheless succeeded, and the end result is satisfactory. "I am very happy with it and I heard from her management that it is one of their favorite remixes."
